Circus of the Kids!

Have you ever dreamed of joining the circus? This August, some lucky local kids will get to experience that dream… without having to leave home! For the first time, the world-renowned Circus of the Kids is coming to the Philadelphia area and teaching the intrepid youngsters of Camp Kef at the Kaiserman JCC how to flip and fly. The circus stars of tomorrow will perform their new skills in a spectacular public show, August 15 and 16.

Circus of the Kids is a traveling program that has brought its blend of learning, character building, exercise, and just plain fun to 523,000 children in camps, schools, and resorts across the country, challenging children to learn and perform circus acts including trick roller skating, trapeze, juggling, and mini-trampoline. Participants experience a life-altering transformation–both in body and in self-confidence–as they learn to overcome fears, work as a team, and communicate effectively with others.

According to founder and president Bruce Pfeffer, “Many of the kids we teach are afraid to perform or to take risks. After training just one week with us, they realize that with the right coaching and support, they can achieve almost anything!”

This is the first time that Circus of the Kids has come to Philadelphia, but parents and kids are already excited. "Wow, what a show!" said Julie Lederman, parent, after visiting a performance in Delaware. "I can't wait to see my kids perform amazing stunts with all of their camp friends. The Wilmington show was truly a circus of kids. The energy was great all around, from the circus staff to the friends and families watching their kids participate. What a wonderful opportunity it will be for my kids to learn great team building skills and have a blast while doing it."

Kaiserman JCC Executive Director Beth Segal agrees: "The Circus of the Kids is an amazing and unique opportunity for kids to challenge themselves, build confidence, and be stars!"
