Whole Foods Expansion, Wynnewood Restaurant Discussions This Week

Here's five things you should know for the week of Feb. 11-17 if you live or work in Ardmore, Merion or Wynnewood.

1. The Lower Merion Board of School Directors will meet at 8 p.m. Monday in the district administrative office's first floor board room (301 E Montgomery Ave, Ardmore). Included on the agenda is a presentation on high school enrollment projections, among other items. View the agenda. 2. WP Realty will present its tentative sketch plans for the new expanded Whole Foods Market at a joint Wynnewood and Shortridge Civic Association meeting on Tuesday. 5 Things To Know: Feb. 4-10

A heads up for those who live or work in Ardmore, Merion, Wynnewood, Penn Wynne and Haverford.

1. At Lower Merion's Planning Commission meeting on Monday night, Federal Realty Investment Trust will present a preliminary land development plan for a restaurant to be built on the vacant postal service spot in Wynnewood Shopping Center. Federal Realty representatives said at a Shortridge Civic Association meeting last week that "ideally," the restaurant to move into the space would have a liquor license and be open until 2 a.m.  View the Planning Commission agenda. 2. A heads up for those who live or work in Ardmore, Merion, Wynnewood, Penn Wynne or Haverford.

1.Narberth Borough Council's Highway Committee meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday to discuss the prospect of installing a traffic light or making other safety-inspired improvements to the intersection of Wynnewood Avenue and Wynnewood Road. Several commissioners from Lower Merion (which shares the Wynnewood Road boundary with Narberth) are expected to attend, as are one or more traffic engineers from Pennoni Associates. 2. A mix of wintry precipitation is in the forecast for Monday morning and early afternoon in the Philadelphia area, according to the National Weather Service. 1. All Lower Merion libraries are closed for business both Monday and Tuesday. The township treasurer's office will also be closed for business Monday. 2. Tuesday is Christmas. Find out what's closed on Dec. 25, and what restaurants will be open. 3. A holiday collection schedule for refuse and recycling is in effect for the week. There will be no collection on Tuesday. 4. Find out where you can attend a Christmas Eve or Christmas Day service in Lower Merion. 5. There will be no night meetings this week in Lower Merion Township.
