Do Local Colleges Require Gym Credits?

A recent study looks at the number of colleges that require gym classes and the affect of physical activity on education.

Villanova 'Nuisances': LMPD Stats Show a Student Problem, Commissioner Says

Township and university officials have convened to discuss nightlife behavior.

Villanova University students committed the majority of Lower Merion Township's 'nuisance offenses' in the past three months, and the school must do a better job with discipline, one township Board of Commissioners member said at Monday's meeting. Of 186 arrests for disorderly conduct, public urination, public intoxication and underage drinking in August through October, 110 involved Villanova students, Commissioner Scott Zelov said, citing data researched by Capt. To sayitasitis 123 (Art): As much as I think something has to be done about this illegal activity by some VU students, it is illegal for the bars and pubs to stop serving VU students at any specific hour if they still serve others. We will continue to look for better ideas that can legally be enforced. Keep those ideas coming.   more ›

The campaign needs so many people that no matter your skills or lack of them, you will have plenty to do. Villanova Wants to Add Housing, Retail, Theater

The project aims to reduce student impact in nearby towns like Bryn Mawr.

Villanova University is preparing to present its plan to build new housing for about 1,100 students and a bookstore, convenience store and eatery on its campus. The $200-million-plus project, that will be built on what is now two parking lots on Lancaster Avenue, could reduce the impact of students living in surrounding neighborhoods, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. The school will go in front of Radnor Township's Board of Commissioners on February 13. The proposed plans for the area also include a parking structure to accomodate approximately 1,800 vehicles and a Performing Arts Center to support Villanova Theatre, Student Theatre, and related campus programs.
