Nearly New Consignment Shop, a Penn Medicine thrift store, will close for good on Friday after 51 years in Ardmore.
Nearly New Consignment Shop, the E Athens Ave store that just recently celebrated its 50th year in Ardmore, will close its doors for the last time on Friday, June 29. Employees of the thrift store, which benefits Penn Medicine, were told last month that the shop would be sold. "The building will be up for sale ... I think it's worth more to [Penn Medicine] to sell it," an employee, who declined to be named, told Patch on Tuesday. Nearly New, which sells gently used clothing, home furnishings and books, usually closes around this time for the summer and picks back up in fall.
