Pressure To Go Be At Work, No Matter What In some jobs, increased pressure to get projects complete can result in people going to work while sick. That can make it take longer to get healthy and potentially leave coworkers infected as well. Working From Home Infecting your coworkers isn’t an issue if you work from home. With my employer, i receive a total of 3 weeks paid time off that i can use at my discretion but if I use up too much time before the end of the year, then I have to come in and work if I'm sick since this time doesn't roll over. In October/December, i actually worked while having a fever & being contagious because i didn't have enough time to take. It sucks, but at least I'm getting paid.   more ›

22 Dead from Flu in Pa. - Did You Get Your Flu Shot?

Statistics released Tuesday from the state Department of Health show flu cases continue to rise locally and across Pennsylvania.

"3/4 of the people will still get the flu" - Really? You just pull that out of your a$$ or what? As for Tamiflu, I know someone who got it form their GP a few weeks ago. Hell, there are TV and radio ads for it so clearly there is plenty to go around. Forget the flu shot, you need to get on some psych meds ASAP!   more ›

Flu symptoms, according to Flu.gov, include: Doctors say that the best way to prevent getting the flu is a flu shot. Check with your doctor’s office or local pharmacy. A number of Main Line area Rite Aid stores are currently out of the vaccine or low on it, but they expect to get more in later in the week, so call before you go. Other prevention tips from Flu.gov include:

Lynn, immunizations like the flu are preventative and therefore should be covered at 100%. Regina, you may have another virus other than the flu. RSV is horrible right now and knocking people out for weeks. I have an entire family of patients that all tested positive for it and are as sick as the flu.   more ›
