The processing center is the resultMore of a study that concluded that shelf overcrowding in libraries was a big problem, and the new center provides numerous services to help stock Lower Merion Library System. The center also shelves and stores volumes that are important to the System, but not in regular demand by patrons. Penn Wynne Library

Originally opened by a group of women in a real estate office in 1929, the Penn Wynne Library has grown to serveMore thousands of residents of Penn Wynne and Wynnewood each year as one of six libraries in the Lower Merion Library System.

At around 40,000 items, the library has a similar collection size to the Ardmore and Gladwyne libraries, and hosts a variety of educational programs throughout the year.

Lower Merion Township Municipal Offices

The Lower Merion Municipal Building houses many of the township government's departments and facilities. The buildingMore has three entrances on each side of the building, which faces Lancaster Avenue.

The first floor houses the parks and recreation, building and planning and public works offices. On the second floor are the finance, human resources, public information, township manager and township secretary offices, as well as conference, board and caucus rooms for meetings. The top floor houses the fire, information services and library system officers.

Penn Wynne Elementary School

Penn Wynne Elementary School serves the nearby Wynnewood community with public school education for children grades KMore through 5.  The school is larger than most average elementary schools with sections that are divided by grade on a 7.5 acre lot off Haverford Road. Children have recreational access to the outdoor recess areas, baseball diamond, and playground set-up as well as the computers and library system.  The school offers enrollment via the Lower Merion School District.  Kindergarten is offered in AM and PM sessions.
