Ankle deep? Beach communities can't predict occurrences such as this. Another BS lawsuit that costRead More taxpayers money. Every time you are in water there is a risk. Especially the ocean.
MissElanyS July 25, 2014 at 04:57 pm
@CementMixer: "Clear negligence"???? by whom? If the beach was unsafe and the townshipRead More did put signs up no swimming, they did everything they could do, short of placing velvet rope stanchions across the shoreline, to deter people from entering the water. There is no case here. The township may end up settling out of court but I would take my chances in front of a jury if I were the township attorneys.

How about an app that tells the SEPTA customer where their vehicle is and it's estimated time ofRead More arrival based on location and local traffic?
Polly Smith July 25, 2014 at 10:35 am
can eliminate the use of people talking loud and phones ringing, cells should be on mute and textRead More only, should have quiet buses, the talking and ring is annoying to riders, personal conversations should be kept personal,at home, some people do read books

Never going to happen because of the union, but get rid of ticket checkers who walk the train aislesRead More and just put in turnstiles.

More and more we need to look for ways to protect ourselves. I don't support the NRA but I don'tRead More feel safe anymore! How sad!
John DiPrimio July 25, 2014 at 02:55 pm
Ironically Dr. Silverman, who treats these mentally disturbed people, knows the side effects of theRead More meds that they prescribe to them, knew it was in his best interest to be armed. This is the same profession that want the rest of us not to know the dangers that lurk in our communities and are unwilling to share data with law enforcement so these medicated psychopaths cannot access guns. They would rather law abiding unmedicated, sane individuals give up their rights instead. Dr. Silverman just exposed the hypocrisy surrounding the mental health industry.
William N. Goodman, CPA July 25, 2014 at 03:12 pm
Gun free zones protect criminals. Hooray for Dr. Silverman. The NRA needs more fans and members toRead More support resistance against liberal gun controllers, who like criminals more than peaceful citizens! I am an NRA recruiter. Call me if you would like to join. I will pay the first $10!

Editor - take a look at the caption under the first photo ("A literal ____-storm"). NiceRead More catch.

Seriously ...this is a family publication and you let a profanity slip by in the very firstRead More photo....pathetic...
Rick Kephart July 24, 2014 at 01:27 pm
I was hoping one of the pictures would be of the incredible lightning during that storm! (P.S.Read More 1:27 pm and the profanity is gone.)

By the way, Corbett admitted to cutting state funding for Education: Today, after touring Mt. JoyRead More Wire to see that 130-person business, the governor was asked if the $429 million in lost state funding for schools compared to last year, meant he "cut education funding the state used to give?" He responded: "We reduced education if you a take a look at it as a whole. - See more at: http://www.psba.org/news-publications/headlines/details.asp?id=2382#sthash.ChjzrG7n.dpuf

Let's retire this idiot and then take his pension to help replace the pension money that was takenRead More from the teacher's pensions.
Blackdemon July 25, 2014 at 07:08 am
Pension's are a thing of the past. In the real world, people have to put money into 401k plans. TaxRead More payer paid jobs should be the same.

That is a total joke. Why do they have to raise the speed limit when people go 75-85 mph now? ThereRead More is virtually no enforcement now for speeders and there will be no enforcement when the limit changes.
Bob Lentz July 24, 2014 at 11:22 am
It's all about the newer gas burners that don't burn up so much . Remember the 55 MPH limit . ItRead More reduced road deaths and saved gas . I think that was the purpose of the 55 mph . I-78 should be renamed to Heavens Highway .

Lower Merion School District is looking for bus parking. (Patch file photo)
Evie July 23, 2014 at 06:16 am
I am not in favor of the Bala Avenue site. It is too narrow of a road for multiple bus service. EvenRead More on a good day when driving down Bala Ave, one has to be very watchful as the road when cars are parked there has to be navigated slowly. This means even more traffic, slower moving and larger vehicles up and down during rush hours. I cannot imagine what this would be like in the winter. The concept of buses, bus fumes and additional cars traveling (bus drivers) to and from their jobs and families using a public park right there- it does not make sense. This park is used much more than most residents are aware of. Use the parking lots at the high schools to a greater advantage. I wonder how full the buses actually are at the high school level. Figure out a lottery or a grade level when one can "apply" for a parking space. Entitlement is not necessarily a good thing for students when it comes to this issue.
Phillyjazz July 23, 2014 at 10:30 am
A bus depot on stat spot would KILL the "walkability quotient" of the block. Finally,Read More after years, we have some traction with the likes of Pescatore moving in, and with a movie theatre as an anchor, it COULD be a nice little neighborhood. Narberth and Ardmore are commercially zoned, too, and people GO to those places. There are plenty of other places to park buses. Why drive a nail into the coffin of a people-friendly SINGLE BLOCK in Bala Cynwyd that has potential to be a gathering spot.

What's the word on the suicide in Norristown Farm Park? All that action last Thursday and thenRead More nothing.
