This is quite possible the most horrible management company out there! It is worth it to pay a little more and live somewhere else for sure! The name HALF-penny is accurate they put in half of what any other management company would. They never fixed anything that went wrong in our apartment (which was a lot) and they even tried to blame the building problems on us. The building had mice while we lived there, a piece of the wall fell off and one winter we lost heat and power for three days- no they did not compensate us in anyway.

Please take my advice and keep looking...the people working for halfpenny are cold and rude. I am not the type of person to write a review but this company is just that bad!

If you're thinking about renting here, RUN. Run away as fast as you can, and find a different building. Halfpenny Management company does not care one bit about their tenants. We've had the misfortune of living here for the past 2 years, and we are moving out when our lease is up in May. Over the past 2 (LONG) years, we have repeatedly called about multiple issues including:

-MICE: Absolutely disgusting. When we called, we were told that no one else had called about a mouse issue. They tried to make us feel like it was our fault that the mice were in the apartment. I know for a fact that we are not the only tenants with mouse problems.

-PARKING LOT: We were told the lot was for tenants only, however on any given day there are at least 2 cars parked in our lot that do not belong to tenants. We have repeatedly suggested a parking tag system. I mean, how hard or expensive is it to just buy some plastic tags and hand them out to residents?

-Ceramic tiles in the bathroom coming loose
-Wood tiles in the bedroom coming loose
-Door handles on every closet door constantly breaking off
-During one of the coldest winters we've ever had here, our heat stopped working for no reason. All we got was a letter slipped under our door apologizing for the inconvenience.

It's very obvious that Halfpenny does not care about quality. They only care about collecting rent checks and keeping units filled. Hopefully this will help save someone from wasting their money on this dump.

Don't bother asking them to take care of a mouse problem. They'll drop off some glue traps, the rest is up to you. That should really tell you something about how much they care about their buildings.

In fact, don't bother requesting anything. You'll be completely ignored. The following is a list of things requested or promised to be fixed within the week of us moving IN:

* intercom (hasn't worked for over a year)
* back steps (4 cinderblocks stacked on top of each other)
* garbage area (a complete mess with garbage everywhere, cracked cement, etc.)
* mice
* hallway door (slams HARD. Will wake you anytime someone goes through it in the morning)
* parking lot (another mess that is cracked and torn up)

They'll give you no notice of closing the parking lot to do construction. Enjoy your $20 ticket.

These guys care about 1 thing only: cash. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Don't let the outside charm of the Arglen Gardens, Ardmore PA building fool you. Maintenance is horrible. They don't fix maintenance issues, they put a quick band aid over the issue. Prior to moving in I was promised an updated kitchen and bathroom. What a joke, my refrigerator had rust on the side which was visible. I was told by the leasing agent to buy spray paint to cover it up. An updated bathroom is getting a new toilet. The bathroom floor has black grout that wont even come clean with bleach. The washer machines are gross with hair stuck in the rubber opening on the front loader machines. Also the tenants do not clean out the lint traps from the dryers. They do have a small parking garage that doesn't accommodate SUV's. There has been at least 2 tenants who park their vehicles in the garage who allow their friends and daughter park in the unassigned spots. Take my advice...there are several other great apartments in Ardmore and Wynnewood to move to. They are all within the same price range and at least these other apartments are more modern. Halfpenny Apartments truly stands for the truth behind of the name of the management company HALF PENNY
