On Saturday, It Was Old School for Alex's Lemonade

Alex's "Original" Lemonade Stand stood again at Penn Wynne Elementary.

Alex's "Original" Lemonade Stand rerturned to its roots on Saturday, at Penn Wynne Elementary School, alma mater of the nonprofit's founder, Alexandra Scott.

The annual event is held the same June weekend as Alex's first front yard lemonade stand, originally located just two blocks away at her parents house. Following Alex's lead, the Foundation continues  to raise awareness and funds to fight pediatric cancer, and this weekend's activities were part of the nationwide 8th Annual Lemonade Days.

Aside from Alex's classic stand, the event featured food, games, and music. A wishing well garden displayed "wishes from heros" presently fighting childhood cancer.  A large picture of Alex warmly watched over the event.

Many sponsors, including Country Time Lemonade, were matching donations to help the foundation reach their goal of raising $100,000 at Saturday's event. Local establishments and corporate sponsors participated in raffles, giving away everything from gift certificates to local restaurants to a brand new Volvo.

This celebration, furthering Alex's mission, continues through this evening across the nation.
