5K walk & timed run featuring kids' play zone, refreshments, music, incentive prizes and more to promote awareness and raise funds for pancreatic cancer research. Benefits the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, a national organization creating hope in a comprehensive way through research, patient support, community outreach and advocacy for a cure. Walkers, runners and teams from throughout the Delaware Valley participate and fundraise, to help in the fight against pancreatic cancer--the fourth leading cancer killer in the U.S. Details & online registration at www.purplestride.org. Event-day registration/check-in opens at 7 a.m.; timed run begins 8:30 a.m., with walk starting immediately after start of run.
