Baby Sends Ardmore Resident to NFL Draft

Temple running back Bernard Pierce says that starting a family is a factor in his decision to enter the 2012 NFL draft.

Bernard Pierce, an Ardmore native and Temple University running back, said that having a baby due was a motivator in his decision to enter the NFL draft, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Pierce, who attended the Glen Mills School before playing at Temple, said that having a baby due in July was a "deciding factor" for his decision, but that other considerations, like wear and tear, also weighed in.

Pierce had 27 touchdowns for Temple during the 2011 season.
