L.M. School District Introduces New Teachers

Lower Merion has 50 new incoming elementary and secondary school teachers for the 2011-12 school year.

Lower Merion School District will have about 50 new elementary school and high school teachers for the 2011-2012 school year, it announced in a statement Monday.

Recently, the new staff members were welcomed at the annual New Teacher Assistance Program (NTAP), held last week (through Aug. 25) at Lower Merion High School.

"The four-day orientation helps familiarize new professionals with LMSD and includes an overview of policies, procedures, initiatives and personnel," the statement read. "Throughout the week, a number staff members, administrators, and school board members stopped by to say hello and shared presentations on a variety of topics, including effective instructional practices, cultural proficiency, educational and student services and how environmental initiatives align with the LMSD strategic plan."
