Penn Valley Elementary Renovation Set to Begin

At a recent meeting, the Lower Merion School District briefed taxpayers on renovation projects at four of its schools.

With enrollment expected to surge, the Lower Merion School Board gave an update at a recent meeting on the handful of district schools that are in various stages of renovation. Gladwyne and Penn Valley elementary as well as Welsh Valley and Bala Cynwyd middle schools are each getting a makeover as part of the project.

According to the Main Line Media News, work at Bala Cynwyd Middle School is underway. The renovation of classrooms within the building is a couple weeks behind schedule, but should completed by mid-August, while the construction of a more secure entrance to the school and the relocation of some administrative space should be finished by August 30, in the estimation of Lower Merion director of operations Pat Guinnane

The paper added that work on Penn Valley and Gladwyne elementary schools should begin in a matter of weeks, while changes to Welsh Valley are still in the design phase.
