Waldron Mercy Academy Names New Principal

Vice Principal Nell Stetser was appointed.

After an exhaustive regional search, the Board of Trustees of Waldron Mercy Academy and the Sisters of Mercy have appointed Nell Stetser to the position of principal. Stetser, currently the school’s vice principal, will take over effective July 1.

The Havertown resident has been at Waldron Mercy Academy since 1990. Prior to her appointment as vice principal, she served as a curriculum director and a teacher in grades two and four.

Stetser holds a Principal/Curriculum Supervisor Certification from St. Joseph’s University, a Master of Science degree in Elementary Education from Cabrini College, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from St. Joseph’s University.

She is succeeding Steve Stritch—who will finish the academic year as principal before assuming a new role on the school’s Senior Leadership Team as Executive Director of Advancement.
