Lower Merion Schools Closed Thursday

All Lower Merion School District schools and offices will be closed Thursday, district officials announced Wednesday afternoon.

There will be no afternoon or evening activities.

The district sent the following letter to parents in announcing the closure:

Dear LMSD Families,

Due to the approaching winter storm, all schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, February 13th. There will be no after-school and evening activities.

As indicated in our email to you yesterday, the make-up day for tomorrow is June 19 as a half/day early dismissal. If a late opening is required on Friday, we will extend the school day to regular dismissal time and provide lunch service. Friday's dismissal times -- only in the case of a late opening -- would be the regular dismissal times of 2:45 PM for high schools, 3:05 PM for middle schools and 3:35 PM for elementary schools. There would be no AM kindergarten. If Friday is an on-time opening, we would have an early dismissal as previously scheduled and no PM kindergarten. Early dismissal times would be 11:20 AM for high schools, 11:55 AM for middle schools and 12:25 pm for elementary schools.

We will be sure to let you know as soon as any final decisions have been made regarding Friday.
