L.M.S.D. Issues ‘Holistic Meeting’ Invitation to Parents Tonight

The school district is seeking feedback to review and modify its Strategic Plan.

Stating that a goal of the Lower Merion School District’s Strategic Plan is to support “the holistic needs of our children,” parents and guardians are invited to attend “an open, informal forum” on the subject tonight at 7 p.m. in the Lower Merion High School auditorium.

The school district recently hosted three similar meetings, with a screening of the film “Race to Nowhere” (subtitle: “The dark side of America’s achievement culture”) in early March and a discussion on “resiliency” in mid-April that was sponsored by the Interschool Council.

On April 27, the school district’s technology director, George Frazier, hosted Dr. Katherine Rowe, who led a presentation on social media and the way teens use technology.

“We hope to use these presentations as a foundation for keeping this community dialogue alive,” said Superintendent Christopher McGinley, in a statement. This evening’s program is meant as a follow-up to those presentations, he added.
