Get Out This Weekend

Things to do in the Ardmore-Merion-Wynnewood Patch this weekend.

"Illuminated Paths." The Case Gallery is one of those elegant places that seems a bit hidden in plain sight, its Lancaster Avenue storefront on Ardmore's main drag a touch drowned out by traffic, surrounded by a more hectic pace.

Case opened in December, and you may not yet have had the good fortune to duck in for a respite from the work week, from a hectic weekend, or just to get out of the heat (or the cold—remember the cold?).

In at least some circumstances, though, one can easily change one's luck. Tonight, from 6 to 8 p.m., is the opening reception for Ardmore resident Shimon Braun's new show at the Case, with more than 40 oil paintings on display (through July 7). Donations, and a percentage of the sale of Braun's art, will benefit the nonprofit Art 4 Alzheimers, which supports the advancement of Alzheimers research.
