Linwood Park is so much more than a parking lot transformed by a community into a park/ playground. It represents what local grass root communities can do with the help of government.

Yeah - Vernon Young is cool - well used and well loved. And the tot lot on Spring - spent a lot of time there when the kids were little. Can we have an "All parks are awesome" category?

Linwood Park was such a missed opportunity imo....I rarely see anyone using because it's so unfriendly, so unnatural.....it looks like they were tying to make a skateboarding park, but of course banning skateboarding. I know it has it's fans, but from what I've see it there are rarely any actually users of the park.

Every park is great. Why do we need to choose between them when we can support and enjoy all of them?

Nate - I think this is a telling statement: "As a kid I used to like whichever park had the biggest playground, but now I look for benches and shade." What makes a great park is in the eye of the beholder - some people are looking for beautiful plants, some looking for shade and a comfortable bench, some are looking for a place to let their dogs run free, some are looking for a place where their toddler can play safely, and some are looking for a place for their older kid to play or have sporting events. Instead of 'which is the best park' maybe it should be "Which is the best park for____ " (fill in - toddlers, young kids, playing sports, reading a good book in a shady spot, having a picnic, taking a stroll, etc.). These are ALL great parks for different activities.
