Township Holds 32nd Senior Citizen Jamboree

With several hundred seniors on hand, it's the biggest event of the year for Lower Merion seniors.

Lower Merion Township's Parks & Recreation Department held its 32nd annual Senior Citizen Jamboree at South Ardmore Park on Wednesday, a free event with a picnic, prizes, music and visits from politicians, Township administrators and a couple of senior members of the Lower Merion Police Department.

The jamboree drew several hundred people from senior centers around Township, including Caroline Merrill (pictured), 97, who was born in Ardmore and has lived there her entire life.

Check back later this week for more on the jamboree, which was renamed going forward to honor Rosemary Riley, the Parks & Rec employee of more than 20 years who passed away last September.
