Run For Reading at Penn Wynne Library 5K

The event, to be held Oct. 13, will help the library maintain its collections.

Runners and bookworms alike will take to the streets of Penn Wynne on an upcoming October morning: Penn Wynne Library will hold its 12th annual 5K race on Oct. 13, with all proceeds from the race benefiting the library.

The race begins at 9 a.m. at the library (130 Overbrook Parkway), and participants can walk or run the course.

The top three male and female finishers will receive trophies, with a medal for the top finisher in each age group. But even if you're not quite as speedy, the first 200 people to register for the 5K will get a free t-shirt—plus, all kids get an award, too.

According to a press release, the 5K festivities go beyond the race, and will include arts and crafts, therapeutic massage, face painting, and a moon bounce in front of the library and at the churchyard next door.
