Open Space, Land Development on Planning Commission Agenda Monday

Monday night's meeting will also address an amendment to create a City Avenue Transportation Service Area.

The Lower Merion Planning Commission meets Monday night at 7 p.m. to discuss the following:

  • A preliminary open space subdivision plan for a 9.3 acre parcel at 1345 Conshohocken State Rd. and 1325 Club House Rd. in Gladwyne (Ward 2), also known as the “Club House Road Project” or the Cunningham project, after the former Sixers coach Billy Cunningham, the owner-developer. The subdivision would consist of five new lots and a preservation area. The historic Class II barn on the property is proposed to be demolished.   • A preliminary land development plan for 231 St Asaphs Rd. (the in Bala Cynwyd; Ward 9). The plan involves construction of a new driveway with access to Belmont Avenue and a re-striping of the existing parking lot to gain five spaces (which would be lost by the new driveway).
  • A “tentative sketch plan” for 215 and 225 Bala Ave. in Bala Cynwyd (Ward 9). The owners of want to build a 14,930 square-foot addition, with a car wash and 28 vehicle lifts (at 215 Bala ) and a 400 square-foot addition to the existing building at 225 Bala. Exterior renovations are proposed for both buildings with re-striped parking areas.
  • An ordinance to amend the Township Subdivision and Land Development Code to create a , along with a traffic impact fee for the area.
