Lower Merion Township Waste Subscriptions Due Dec. 20

Lower Merion Township residents must inform the township if they want to change their level of service by Dec. 20.

The following is a press release from Lower Merion Township.

Solid waste subscription forms have been mailed, and Township residents who wish to change their subscription levels for 2014 are reminded to return the form with their selections by December 20th.

“If customers are satisfied with their current level of service, they do not need to return a subscription form,” noted Don Cannon, Director of Public Works. “However, this is the only opportunity to change your service for 2014.”

In October, the Lower Merion Board of Commissioners approved an across-the-board +5.4% Solid Waste Fee (SWF) increase, which will take effect January 1, 2014. The basic one-container subscription will increase by $15 annually, from $277 to $292. The rear-yard collection fee will also increase, from $200 to $210. All other increases are detailed in the mailing.

The correct number to call for trash and recycling collection questions is the Refuse Division at (610) 667-1952; Solid Waste Fee (SWF) billing questions should be directed to the Finance Department, at (610) 645-6144.
