Fattah: Voter ID Law 'Went Against Freedoms'

Congressman Chaka Fattah hopes today's ruling on the Pennsylvania Voter Identification Law closes "the chapter on the issue."

Here's Congressman Chaka Fattah's statement after a judge struck down the Pennsylvania Voter Identification Law earlier today.

“In today’s ruling, Judge Bernard L. McGinley wrote that “Voting laws are designed to assure a free and fair election.” This law went against these freedoms, creating unnecessary barriers for Pennsylvanians exercising their right to vote. I believe this was the correct ruling and I am hopeful we can close the chapter on this issue.”
