Daytime Closures for Ardmore's Anderson Ave. Through Summer

New lighting for the underpass will detour daytime traffic for six to eight weeks.

Anderson Avenue in Ardmore will be closed during weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting Monday, June 20, and running through August, Lower Merion Township officials say.

Anderson connects Lancaster and Montgmery avenues, adjacent to the Ardmore train station and Suburban Square shopping center.

The closures are to install lighting fixtures for the Anderson Avenue Underpass Project. The work will last "for approximately six to eight weeks, depending on weather," the Township says. "During this period installation of the safety-related I-beam will also be completed."

Yellow detour signs will not be covered and uncovered each day, but the signs will  indicate hours when traffic is detoured. Barriers on either side of the underpass will also be in place each day, during detour hours.
