Briggs Is Appointed to State Planning Board

The Democrat was appointed by House Minority Leader Frank Dermody.

State Rep. Tim Briggs (D., 149th), has been appointed to serve on Pennsylvania's State Planning Board for the 2011-12 legislative session, his office announced Thursday.

Briggs was selected for the post by House Minority Leader Frank Dermody, of Allegheny County.

The Planning Board is an "important panel" which "explores and develops strategies to ensure the current and future success of Pennsylvania," Briggs said, in a statement.
