Ardmore's Anderson Ave. to be Closed Monday Night

A main connector between Lancaster and Montgomery avenues in Ardmore will be closed overnight Monday for Amtrak work.

Anderson Avenue in Ardmore, the street that runs adjacent to Suburban Square on the mall’s west side and abuts the Ardmore train station, will be closed this evening and overnight for Amtrak work. The street connects Lancaster and Montgomery avenues.

Lower Merion Township officials expect the work to start by 8 p.m. tonight and be finished by tomorrow’s morning commute.

Amtrak is installing “strike beams” to the Anderson Avenue underpass. Strike beams are basically physical deterrents for trucks and other vehicles that are too large to make it through the underpass, said Brenda Viola, Lower Merion Township’s public information officer.
