Architect of Cantor's Defeat Graduated From Haverford College in 2013

Eric Cantor this week made history by becoming the first-ever sitting House Majority Leader to lose a primary election.

Eric Cantor this week made history by becoming the first-ever sitting House Majority Leader to lose a primary election. And the architect of that defeat was a 23-year-old Haverford College graduate.

Zachary Werrell served as campaign manager for David Brat, the Tea Party professor who beat Cantor, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Werrell graduated from Haverford College last year, the Inquirer said.

Rep. Cantor (R-Va.) didn't just lose, he lost by a lot, The Atlantic reported: 56 percent to 44 percent.

In December 2013, Werrell updated his LinkedIn profile to say: "I am Dave Brat's campaign manager to take out Eric Cantor in the Republican Primary."

Looks like he was successful.
