AP: Bill Clinton stumps for Sestak in Wynnewood

The former president helped campaign for U.S. Senate candidate Joe Sestak.

Former President Bill Clinton was on hand in Wynnewood on Monday, Sept. 13, to help campaign for U.S. Senate candidate Joe Sestak, according to an Associated Press report.

Clinton spoke to about 150 gathered supporters at the Kaiserman Jewish Community Center in the morning. The former president said he's practically a Pennsylvanian because of his new son-in-law, Marc Mezvinsky, who married Chelsea Clinton on July 31 and grew up along the Main Line.

Sestak's opponent, Republican candidate Pat Toomey released a statement in response to Clinton's visit. "Joe Sestak likes to bring in politicians from other states to endorse him because he wants to run away from the fact that his voting record, while 100 percent in line with Nancy Pelosi, is vastly more liberal than most Pennsylvanians, including more liberal than many of his fellow Pennsylvania Democrats in Congress," Toomey said.
