After Hurricane Sandy: 11 Things To Know

A special post-hurricane Patch briefing for those who live or work in Ardmore, Merion, Wynnewood, Penn Wynne and Haverford.

While it could certainly have been worse, many Lower Merion residents are feeling the effects of Hurricane Sandy. The storm, which dropped about three inches of rain according to the final NWS total, caused significant power outages, road closures and school cancellations.

As residents recover, here are 11 things you should know moving forward this week.

1. In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Lower Merion has been left with significant power outages, originally affecting more than half of PECO customers township-wide. Since Tuesday morning, some power has been restored, and crews continue to work to restore power.
