$10,000 Violin Bow, Case Stolen in Ardmore Burglary

Two items were taken, but other valuables left in plain sight were undisturbed, police said.

A burglar made out to the tune of $10,000 in a recent burglary on Roberts Road in Ardmore, according to Lower Merion police.

Officers responded to a home on the 200 block of Roberts Road at 8:41 a.m. Feb. 12 on report of an alarm activation and found a broken, partially opened window, according to the report.

A violin bow and bow case estimated to be worth $10,000 were missing from the home, according to the homeowner. There was no ransacking, and it did not appear any other valuable items were taken despite being in plain sight, according to the report.

Both the bow and the case were located in the room where the window was broken, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
