Two More Suspects Arrested In Hymie's Robbery

One of the men turned himself in, according to a Lower Merion Township news release.

Two more suspects were arrested this week in connection with the July 14 robbery of Hymie's Deli in Merion, according to a Lower Merion Police Department news release.

located at 342 Montgomery Ave. in Merion, was robbed at gunpoint on July 14 by four suspects, according to police. Deli employees and patrons, 19 in all, were ordered to the ground and three had wallets and cell phones stolen. An 18-year-old Hymie's cashier dialed 911 during the robbery.

Three other men were previously arrested and charged in connection with the crime.

On Wednesday, James Dumas, 41, of Philadelphia, was arrested in connection with the robbery. He was arraigned on Oct. 4, with bail set at $50,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 11 at 12:30 p.m., according to court documents.

On Thursday, Marquis Budd, 20, also of Philadelphia, turned himself in to the Lower Merion Police and was charged in connection with the robbery, the release states.

According to court documents, both Dumas and Budd are charged with 19 counts of conspiracy to commit robbery with threat of immediate serious injury and 19 counts of robbery with threat of immediate serious injury, all first degree felonies. They are also charged with four counts of robbery using force, four counts of conspiracy of theft by unlawful taking, four counts of theft by unlawful taking, and four counts of receiving stolen property, all third degree felonies. Both are also charged with other, lesser crimes including simple assault.

Budd was arraigned on Oct. 4, with bail set at $100,000, police said. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 10 at noon, according to court documents.

Both men are in custody at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
