Small Fire in Haverford Home Contained

The fire began on Laurel Lane this morning

There are no injuries after a small fire started in a large Haverford home the morning of April 5.

Lower Merion Fired Department chief Matt Maguire said that the fire at 330 Laurel Lane in Haverford started at 10:30 a.m.

It began when a contractor was using a torch to burn off old paint—the contractor was a painter—and accidentally began the blaze.

The fire is under investigation.

Fire and ambulance crews from Narberth, Bryn Mawr, Gladwynne, and Haverford responded to the scene and had the fire contained within the hour.
