Gun crimes are easy to control: An NRA program suggests that illegal possession and crimes with guns. be brought before a judge the next day, there be no plea bargaining and mandatory five year prison sentence just for the gun crime. What's not easy is to get the politicians to cut the lawyers out of the process.

I'm all for finding a way to curtail gun crimes, but as for cutting the lawyers out of the process, I don't think politicians would have an easier time repealing the Sixth Amendment than the Second.
