Report: Baby from Waldron Mercy Day Care Dies

Township officials report there is no criminal investigation into Tuesday's tragedy.

A 3-month-old boy died Tuesday after being rushed to Lankenau Hospital from Waldron Mercy day care in Merion Station, according to Lower Merion officials.

As first reported Friday by NBC10, the child was found "in distress" around noon, and CPR was administered, but he later died at the hospital.

Township spokesman Tom Walsh told Patch, "There was a normal investigation; there's no criminal investigtion. It's now simply in the coroner's hands."

It was not immediately clear what caused the unidentified child's death; he was not known to have had prior health problems, according to the report.
