Crime & Safety

Reminder: Lower Merion Crime Meeting Thursday

There will be a community meeting on Thursday to discuss crime and safety after a recent rash of burglaries.

The following is a press release from Lower Merion Township.

In the wake of an increase in Lower Merion Township burglaries in 2013, the Lower Merion Police Department will host a community meeting on November 14th, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. All residents are invited to attend.

“We want to assure the community that preventing crime is the Police Department’s number one priority,” said Lower Merion Police Superintendent Mike McGrath. “The meeting will address crime prevention, current crime statistics, and safety tips.”

There will also be a discussion of the effective use of Lower Merion’s Community Watch neighborhood groups, and various communications methods available to keep informed about current crime trends.

The meeting will be hosted at the Township Administration Building, in the second-floor Board Room, 75 East Lancaster Avenue, Ardmore.
