A mother and daughter who were visiting Presentation Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Wynnewood had their handbags stolen out of a vehicle parked near the intersection of Dayton Ln. and Lloyd Ln. in the early evening of Dec. 24, according to the Lower Merion Twp. Police Department.

A woman contacted police stating that she returned to her parked vehicle at approximately 5:55 p.m. to discover that the drivers’ side window on her vehicle had been smashed, and that both her and her mothers handbags had been taken from the vehicle. The handbags had reportedly contained an estimated $700 in cash, $200 in gift cards, multiple credit cards and numerous personal items.

Police spoke with residents in the vicinity, but were unable to gain any additional information.

One of the credit cards taken was later used at a store on City Line Ave. in Philadelphia, police stated.
