Police: Two Strong-Armed Robberies In Penn Wynne This Week

The incidents occurred on Monday and Thursday, according to the township news release.

The following information has been provided by Lower Merion Township.

Township residents are being alerted to two strong-armed robberies which occurred in Penn Wynne in the last five days.

On Monday, May 14 at 8:10 p.m., a juvenile township resident was walking on Trent Rd. in Penn Wynne when four young black males began following him. Two of the males ran up to him and one of them pointed what appeared to be a handgun at him and robbed him of his cell phone. They were described as being in their late teens or early twenties.

On Thursday, May 17 at 8:51 p.m., a resident of Penn Wynne was walking on Edgevale Rd. when two black males approached him from behind. One of the males pressed a hard object into his back and told him to empty his pockets. The victim yelled and ran at which time the males fled. They were described as young black males in their teens with thin builds.

Residents are encouraged to immediately report any suspicious persons in their neighborhood to the police by calling 9-1-1
