Police: Man Wrestled to Ground, Robbed

A group of men wrestled the victim to the ground before taking his wallet, police said.

A man walking home Sunday in Ardmore was the victim of a strong-arm robbery, Lower Merion Township Police said Monday.

Around 1 a.m. Sunday, the man was walking near the intersection of Spring Avenue and St. Paul's Road in Ardmore when he was approached by a group of four to six black men, police said.

The men wrestled the victim to the ground and stole his wallet before fleeing on foot, police said.

Lower Merion Police responded with a K9 unit, but the suspects were not located.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any information about the crime is asked to contact Lower Merion Police at 610-649-1000.

Ardmore's black neighborhood has been getting more dangerous for years, but this is pretty bad. The police continue to be more interested in enforcing revenue generating traffic laws.
