A 53-year-old man was arrested on Dec. 24 after failing field sobriety tests conducted in connection with a mid-afternoon car accident near the intersection of St. Asaphs and Conshohocken State Rd.
Larry Ivory, of the unit block of Montgomery Ave., Bala Cynwyd, was questioned by Lower Merion Township Police after a vehicle he was operating struck the rear end of another vehicle. Police state that Ivory, when asked for his license and insurance, became uncooperative and gave multiple different - and at times incomplete - phone numbers.
After detecting an odor of alcohol on Ivory police conducted regular field sobriety tests, with Ivory’s cooperation, and determined that he was unsteady on his feet and too impaired to operate his vehicle.
A breathalyzer test was administered to Ivory, and the results put his BAC level at .293 percent – which more than tripled the legal limit of .08 percent.
Police stated that Ivory is being charged with DUI and related offenses.
