The man became agitated as police questioned him, and told them he wanted to walk home. The man was transported to headquarters and refused chemical testing, but will be cited for driving under the influence, police said.

Public drunkenness: A 46-year-old Ardmore man was cited for public drunkenness at 3:18 a.m. on March 9 near Linwood Road and E Spring Road in Ardmore. Police on patrol observed a man staggering and having trouble with his balance; when the officer reported the situation over the radio, another officer said he had also seen the man walking through town that night.

Since it appeared the man had been walking aimlessly for several hours, an officer stopped to investigate, according to the report. Police said the 46-year-old was inebriated to the degree that he could not provide an adequate preliminary breath test, and so was transported to headquarters to sober up. He was cited for public drunkenness upon his release.

DUI: A 67-year-old Wynnewood man was charged with driving under the influence after he crashed into a parked car on Aubrey Road around 10:12 p.m. March 4, police said.

While investigating the accident, the officers detected a strong odor of alcohol on the man, though he told police he’d had nothing to drink that day, according to the report. The man was arrested and transported back to headquarters, where he refused a breath test; he is being charged with driving under the influence, police said.

Public drunkenness and disorderly conduct: A 21-year-old Havertown man was cited for public drunkenness after he got into a fight with another man in Ardmore on Wednesday night, police said.

At 10:53 p.m. on March 6, a female pedestrian flagged down an officer on patrol near Jack McShea’s, and told him a fight had just broken out between several men in the nearby municipal lot. The officer went to the parking lot, where he found a man who had obviously just been in a fight, along with two friends, according to the report. The man in question, whom police said was sober, told police several men had followed him and his friends out of 23 East and started a fight.

Police then went to another municipal lot, and saw a 21-year-old man who appeared intoxicated. Upon questioning, the man told police he had been involved in the fight as well. He was arrested for public intoxication, according to the report.

DUI: A 32-year-old Levittown man was cited for driving under the influence following an incident at 1:25 a.m. on March 8, police said. An officer observed the man speeding down Lancaster Avenue near Booth Lane in Haverford with his high beams on, police said. The officer conducted a traffic stop, at which point the man drove his vehicle onto a curb, according to the report.

Police said the man appeared confused and couldn’t figure out how to roll down his window, eventually opening the door instead. After almost falling over multiple times in the field sobriety tests, he was arrested and taken back to headquarters, where he submitted to a blood alcohol content test, which registered .197 percent, according to the report. The man was cited for driving under the influence.
