Police: Copper Pipes, Car Stolen

The incidents occurred in Haverford and Wynnewood, Lower Merion police said.

Lower Merion police relayed the following incidents to news media at a Monday afternoon briefing.

Theft: Several thousand dollars worth of copper has been stolen from a residential construction site in Haverford, police said. On Oct. 1, the owner of a home under renovation on the 200 block of Booth Lane reported 40 feet of 4-inch drain pipe, worth about $2,100 in all, had been stolen. Then on Oct. 13, the homeowner told police another $1,300 of copper sheets and drip edge was missing. The home is undergoing a complete renovation and can't be secured, police were told.

Vehicle theft: A green four-door 2011 Toyota Camry was stolen Oct. 13 from the Wynnewood Plaza condominiums, police said. The car was taken from the complex on the 300 block of East Lancaster Avenue sometime between 10:25 a.m. and 11:50 a.m., while the driver was visiting her mother. It was not known whether the car had been locked before that time.
