Police Charge Two Men with DUIs

The following information is provided by the Lower Merion Police Department. Arrests and charges do no indicate guilt.

Lower Merion police responded to two incidents of alleged driving while intoxicated in the Ardmore area the week of March 15, according to a release from the department.

Police saw a black Toyota head eastbound on Lancaster Avenue and almost strike a curb, then weave back and forth between lanes about 2:30 a.m. March 15, according to a statement. Driver Brenden McDonnell, 21, of the 2400 block of Garrett Road in Drexel Hill, had a blood alcohol content of .203 and was charged with DUI, police said.

Police also responded to a car headed eastbound on Lancaster Avenue was weaving back and forth about 12:50 a.m. March 16. The driver was brought back to the station and released to a relative. Peter Giannopoulos, 53, of the 900 block of Livingston Drive in Downingtown, was charged with DUI, police said.
