Police: Burglary at Penn Wynne Presbyterian Church, Investigation Ongoing

Cash and locked boxes are said to have been taken from the church.

Cash and items from lock boxes were taken from Penn Wynne Presbyterian Church, according to a Lower Merion Police reports released on Monday, Sept. 13.

The burglary reportedly occurred between Sunday Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. and Monday Sept. 13 at 5 a.m. when church officials noticed the missing items, according to the police report.

The building was entered forcibly through a window, according to the report, but sustained no damage except for a few broken locks, said Pat Martin, Penn Wynne Presbyterian's pre-school director.

Police were unable to determine a precise amount of money taken, although Martin said it was not a significant amount.

No one was seen committing the crime, which was discovered Monday morning by church workers. A Lower Merion police investigation is ongoing.
