Police Blotter: Power Tools, Bathroom Sink Stolen

Also, some mysterious stickers bearing the words "chocolate truck" showed up this week, according to police.

The reported the following incidents to news media on Monday afternoon. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction:

Theft from building: Police said $266 was stolen from a drawer in a locked suite at Lankenau Hospital sometime between Aug. 31 and Sept. 4. An employee placed a register drawer in a storage closet at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31 and returned Sept. 4 to find the drawer was there but the cash was missing, police said.

Theft from building: Fifteen 10-foot sections of copper downspouts were stolen from a construction site on the 200 block of Cheswold Lane in Ardmore sometime between 4:30 p.m. Aug 31 and 6 a.m. Sept. 4, police said. The construction foreman immediately noticed the downspout were missing and contacted police. The downspouts were valued at about $1,500 total, police said.

Theft from motor vehicle: A number of power tools and a bathroom sink with vanity top, valued at more than $1,500, were stolen from a van parked in the Old Navy parking lot at 2:59 p.m. Sept. 5, police said. The owner, who had come from Home Depot in South Philadelphia before Old Navy, said the door lock had been jimmied by some type of pry tool and discovered the right rear window had been smashed out, police said. A witness told police she saw two men in a maroon Jeep unloading items from the van.

Retail theft: Police said two men stole 11 black and eight green khaki-style jackets from Old Navy about 8:28 a.m. Sept. 5. The jackets were valued at $1,138, police said. The men were last seen running behind the post office in the parking lot, police said.

Graffiti: Sometime between 5 p.m. Sept. 5 and 10 a.m. Sept. 6, the maintenance supervisor at Brynwood Apartments on Wynnewood Road found small black rectangular stickers, with “chocolate truck” printed on them, on the top of the outside doors, police said.

DUI: Police stopped a vehicle at Lancaster Avenue and Old West Wynnewood Road after police saw it strike the curb with the rear end tire and cross twice into an oncoming lane of traffic, police said. The driver, a 25-year-old woman from the 100 block of Elkin Drive in Malvern, blew a .17 on a preliminary breath test, police said. The woman was charged with DUI, police said.
