Police Blotter: Potted Plants, Purses Stolen

A $600 phone was also stolen, police said.

Lower Merion police reported the following incidents to news media on Monday afternoon. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Theft from Best Auto Tag: An employee’s purse went missing from Best Auto Tag on July 18 around 6:28 p.m., according to police. A man entered the business and was filling out paperwork while the employee was otherwise engaged; when the employee realized he’d left, she noticed her purse was also missing, police said. The suspect is described as a black male, 45 to 50 years old, 6 feet tall with a thin build, according to police.

Theft from unlocked car: On July 18 between 9:45 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. a woman’s wallet was stolen from her unlocked car in the parking lot of , police said. Missing is $45 in cash and credit cards.

Theft from Verizon store: A Samsung Galaxy S3 valued at $600 was stolen from the in Ardmore on July 19, police said.  The theft is thought to have occurred between 6 and 6:45 p.m., and the security lock was still attached to the case, so the thief somehow removed it, according to police.

Potted plants stolen: Overnight between July 21 and 22, three potted plants were stolen from the front porch of a apartment in Wynnewood, according to police. The total value of the plants stolen was $55, police said.
