Police Blotter: Penn Wynne Robbery Suspect Still Sought

The following information has been supplied by the Lower Merion Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

On Monday afternoon, reported to news media the following crimes and incidents from the Ardmore-Merion-Wynnewood Patch area in the past week:

Burglary: on the 1400 block of Manoa Road in Penn Wynne was burglarized between Sept. 17 and Sept. 20. The door was damaged by prying and $5 in change was taken.

Theft: An unoccupied home under renovation on the 300 block of Sycamore Road in Merion Station was targeted on or just before Sept. 20. Five cast-iron radiators, 15 feet of aluminum duct work and a window air-conditioning unit were taken from the driveway.

Theft from motor vehicle: The front passenger window was smashed in a vehicle on the 1300 block of Drayton Lane in Penn Wynne the morning of Sept. 20. Cash, a checkbook and a drivers license were stolen.

Theft: A student's iPhone was stolen from her bookbag during the school day Sept. 20.

DUI: Carrie Prosek, 32, of Newtown in Bucks County was charged with driving under the influence about 4:30 a.m. Sept. 21 after, police said, her car struck a fire hydrant on the 1000 block of Indian Creek Road in Penn Wynne and got stuck in the mud on a lawn. Prosek's blood alcohol content measured 0.23, police said.

Robbery: As on Patch,  on the 1400 block of Manoa Road was robbed at gunpoint about noon Sept. 23. No arrest has been made. The suspect was described as a 5-foot-8-inch thin white man in his 20s, who fled the scene in a blue or black Dodge sedan.

Burglary: About $33,000 worth of jewelry was taken the evening of Sept. 23 from a home on the 200 block of Derwen Road in Merion Station, police said.

Public intoxication: After his blood alcohol content registered 0.27, Harry Johnson, 44, of Ambler was charged with public intoxication on the 200 block of Sheas Terrace in Ardmore, police said.

Thefts from motor vehicle: Credit cards, headphones and a drivers license were stolen late Sept. 23 or early Sept. 24 from an unlocked car on the 100 block of Woodside Road in Ardmore. The same night in that area, thieves also took change from a vehicle on the 100 block of Valley Road and apparently entered but did not take anything from vehicles on the 100 block of Mill Creek Road and the 200 block of Glenn Road, police said.

Attempted robbery: About 7 p.m. Sept. 24, police said, a pedestrian on Allendale Road in Wynnewood was confronted by a man pointing a pocketknife at him and saying, "Can I have your wallet, please?" The would-be victim yelled and cursed at the man, who fled the scene. A witness described the suspect as a 5-foot-4-inch to 5-foot-6-inch black-haired white man between the ages of 18 to 25.

Theft: Two employees reported having cash stolen from purses left in a break room the morning of Sept. 25.

Theft from vehicle: A resident of the 100 block of Harrogate Road in Wynnewood reported that late Sept. 23 or early Sept. 24, a makeup bag worth more than $500 was stolen from her vehicle in her driveway.

Public intoxication: Scott Culin, 22, of Wilmington was cited and taken to  about 2:45 a.m. Sept. 25 after being found unconscious on the sidewalk on the unit block of East Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore.
