Police Blotter: Drunkenness On New Years Weekend

The following information has been supplied by the Lower Merion Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Lower Merion Township police reported to news media the following crimes and incidents from the Ardmore Patch area in the past week:

Refusal: Police observed a white Ford van drift several times over the double yellow lines on City Avenue at 2:02 a.m. Dec. 31. Police said the man was stopped at City Avenue and Blancoyd Road, then failed a field sobriety test and refused to complete a Breathalyzer test. Ali Crews, 38, of the 7600 block of Overbrook Avenue in Philadelphia, was arrested and charged with refusal, police said.

Public drunkenness: Police said a man was thrown out of Brownies 23 East for starting a fight, then argued with some people in the parking lot before he was found by police standing on the railroad tracks at 1:05 a.m. Jan. 1. Derek Van Natta, 24 of Fredericksburg, Va., was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass, police said.
