Police Blotter: Merion Burglary Through Laundry Room Door

The following information has been supplied by the Lower Merion Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

On Monday afternoon,  reported to news media the following incidents from the past week:

Burglary: A burglary was reported on Nov. 1 from a residence on the 500 block of Waldron Terrace in Merion, police said. Stolen were an Apple MacBook Pro, an Apple Macintosh desktop computer and costume jewelry.

Police said the victim left at 7:30 a.m. and returned at about 5:45 p.m. to find the items missing. Someone had forced open a door leading to the laundry room, police said.

Underage drinking: Police responded to Lapsley Lane in Merion Station at 1:26 a.m. Nov. 6 on a report that St. Joseph’s University police had a man in custody after they observed a group of men shouting and ripping balloons off lampposts. A 19-year-old St. Joe's student from Wayne was cited for underage drinking and public drunkenness, police said.
