Robbery
A pedestrian on Montgomery Avenue near Bowman Avenue in Merion was confronted about 7:20 p.m. Dec. 8 by a black male in his early 20s wielding a serrated knife, police said. The victim handed over his valuables and the suspect fled; a following investigation showed that the signal from the victim's phone was last tracked at 63rd Street and Lebanon Avenue in Philadelphia.
Auto theft
Another vehicle left running while the driver was inside a local establishment was stolen. An unlocked black Mercedes ML 350 SUV, with the ignition running, was stolen from Rittenhouse Place in Ardmore while its driver shopped about 11 a.m. on Dec. 7, police said. The driver thought the vehicle was locked, police were told.
Burglary
About $30,000 worth of jewelry and watches was stolen from a home on the 1400 block of Dorset Lane in Penn Wynne, sometime on Dec. 7, after basement doors had been kicked in.

About $15,000 in jewelry was taken between 10 a.m. and 7:45 p.m. on Dec. 10 from a home on the first block of Henley Road in Penn Wynne after a rear door leading into the den was forced open, police said.
Theft
Copper piping was cut from the inside of an unoccupied house on the first block of Merion Road in Merion between Dec. 2 and Dec. 10, police said.

Overnight from Dec. 10 to Dec. 11, unlocked vehicles on the 500 block and 200 block of Avon Road, the 400 block of Chichester Lane and 500 block of Merwyn Road in Merion were targeted by thieves, police said. A computer, MP3 player, cash, loose change and a wallet were among the items stolen.

A $500 money order was stolen from a vehicle on the 400 block of Owen Road in Merion about 10 p.m. on Dec. 11, police said.
Public intoxication
A 24-year-old man from the first block of Overbrook Parkway in Penn Wynne was arrested for public intoxication at about 1:45 a.m. Dec. 7 on the first block of Rock Glen Road, police said.
