Police Blotter: Genuardi's, Wawa Targeted in Retail Thefts
The following information has been supplied by the Lower Merion Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.
On Tuesday afternoon, Lower Merion Township police reported to news media the following incidents from the past week in Ardmore, Merion and Wynnewood:
Retail theft
Amoni Smith, 18, and Zakiyyah Tucker, 19, both of the first block of School Lane in Ardmore, were charged with trying to steal $39 worth of merchandise from the Ardmore Wawa about 12:10 a.m. on Jan. 10. The women tried to replace some items on shelves before they were arrested, police said.

Isabel Lewis, 69, of the 200 block of Old Eagle School Road in Wayne, was charged with retail theft about 5 p.m. on Jan. 14 at the Genuardi's in Wynnewood, police said. Lewis paid for some items at checkout but allegedly concealed $64 in merchandise in a bag on the bottom of the cart.

Four hubcaps worth about $150 each were taken Jan. 12 from a Cadillac Escalade on the first block of Greenfield Avenue in Ardmore, police said.
Theft
A clerk at Denim Habit on the first block of St. George's Road at Suburban Square in Ardmore had her iPhone stolen from the counter at about 5 p.m. on Jan. 13, police said.
DUI
A 27-year-old Upper Darby resident was charged with driving under the influence about 11:20 p.m. on Jan. 13 on City Avenue near Raynham Road in Merion, police said. The woman had run a red light, and later registered 0.19 on a blood-alcohol test.
